Vane-type (blade) mist eliminators
Curved channels: inertial deposition of droplets on the walls, gravity flow to the drain.

Constructive families, applicability conditions, preliminary calculations and a datasheet questionnaire for the manufacturer. No datasheet promises — only verifiable engineering logic.
Schematic diagram, not an installation drawing.
Decimal separator — dot or comma. Values are positive.
The result appears after a correct input. Worked example: Q=7200, W=1000, H=500 → 4 m/s; with k=0.8 → v_free = 5 m/s.
Constructive catalog
Each row is a class of construction: the separation principle, where it applies, and what to verify before choosing. Datasheet figures are never replaced by typical numbers.

Open the family →Mesh layers: droplets collide, merge and drain. Requires washing when fouled.

The place in the system defines the duty: after a cooling coil, a humidifier, a spray chamber, at the air intake, or in wet gas scrubbing.
Condensate on the cooling coil fins is carried away by the stream: the place of the mist eliminator, selection inputs and a velocity check before contacting a manufacturer.
A humidifier releases aerosol drops; steam is not drops. Separating the tasks, the inputs and design options with verification against the data sheet.
At the spray chamber outlet there is a dense curtain of drops from the nozzles: the role of the separator, the inputs and a check before ordering.
After the scrubber the stream carries drops of the scrubbing liquid: an aggressive medium, materials and fractions with caveats; inputs for a request to the manufacturer.
Calculators
Each tool is a separate page with its formula, worked example and limits. All calculations run locally in your browser.
| Tool | Input | Result | What it does not do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Airflow velocity | Q, W, H (+ k_open) | v_face, A_face; v_free with k | does not replace the model datasheet velocity |
| Required section | Q, v_target (± W or H) | A_req, H_min / W_min | never inserts a “recommended velocity” |
| Pressure drop ΔP | ζ (from source), ρ, v_ref | ΔP, Pa | no ζ — no result; invents no curves |
| Energy impact of ΔP | Q, ΔP, hours, η | power and energy/year | does not replace the electricity bill |
The table scrolls horizontally on mobile.
Engineer’s route
Handbook
Inertia, interception (capturing), coalescence — how the physics of drops separates liquid from the stream and why the design determines applicability.
Five verifiable steps of mist eliminator selection: the point, the duty, the family, the calculations, the data sheet and the questionnaire.
Three velocities found in mist eliminator documentation: face, free area and local in the channels; when to use each.
How to read the ΔP of a mist eliminator: ζ from the data sheet of the specific model, the section reference, typical mistakes when transferring coefficients.
The site is not a shop and not a product data sheet: it is an engineering atlas. It helps you follow the route “problem → mist separation principle → design type → calculation → constraint check → questionnaire” and prepare a correct request to a manufacturer. All calculations run locally in your browser; numerical characteristics of specific models are deliberately not published — their place is the manufacturer documentation.
