Hybrid assembly: a coalescing stage and a vane stage with independent drains

Schematic diagram, not an installation drawing.

A hybrid assembly places stages of different principles in series: for example, a coalescing stage grows fine mist, and a vane stage polishes out the large drops. The assembly is a design decision: stage characteristics are taken from their data sheets, and the designer matches velocities and drainage.

What to check before selecting

  1. Velocity at the inlet of each stage — matched across the sections (the “Airflow velocity” tool).
  2. Total ΔP — the sum of the data sheet ΔP values of the stages at matched velocities.
  3. Independent drains for the stages; mixing the drain streams is not acceptable without justification.

What the manufacturer must state

This table is not a spec sheet: without the specific model datasheet, values stay “no data”. No typical numbers are ever substituted.

Values the manufacturer must state; without a document — “no data”.
